Welcome to BELUKRAID VZW non-profit organization

Founded in the summer of 2025, the non-profit organization Belukraid provides logistical and medical assistance to Ukrainian populations in the context of the war of aggression launched by the Russian Federation.

Russia's unjustified aggression violates all principles of international law, and it is our duty to help the Ukrainian people resist in order to preserve their independence, sovereignty, and future. Our own security is also at stake: abandoning Ukraine to its fate is tantamount to endorsing Russia's vision of a world where might makes right. Helping Ukraine resist also means contributing to a safer future for our own children in Western Europe, in Belgium.

Our Mission

We provide medical and logistical support to recognized and competent Ukrainian partners in their respective fields. In practical terms, we send convoys of "mobile workshop" vehicles that provide maintenance and repair services for ambulances, evacuation vehicles, and other frontline medical units. We collect post-traumatic care supplies which we send via these same convoys. We do NOT provide military aid! Although our vehicles are used by units on the front line, they are in no way offensive equipment. Our mission is to reinforce and support the logistical needs of the combatants and the civilian population still present in these regions.

We have set ourselves the objective of providing a minimum of 15 vehicles. We will see if we can reach, or even exceed, this objective by the end of 2026.

Why is this necessary?

We regularly read in the press that European governments regularly provide Ukraine with equipment and funding. Why then this kind of initiative? Will the money and equipment be used wisely? In this conflict, Ukraine is a David versus Goliath situation. The Russian population is four times larger than its neighbor's. Every effort counts, every resource is welcome. Numerous organizations have been active in Europe and elsewhere since February 2022 to support this brave and courageous people. The non-profit organization Belukraid aims to contribute by responding to the need expressed by our partner, "Mercy & Health – Miloserdie ta Zdorovie," to provide mobile workshops.

Who we are ?

The non-profit organization Belukraid is run by a small group of friends who love freedom, are fervent defenders of the rule of law, and who, by chance, decided to take up the challenge and concretely help our friends at Mercy & Health to defend life and hope.

Our partner in Ukraine

In 2025 and 2026, we are working with the non-profit organization "Mercy & Health," which was established in 2016 to provide humanitarian aid in the context of this conflict, which, let us remember, started in 2014 with the invasion of Crimea and part of Donbas. Mercy & Health is based in Kyiv and run by volunteers who receive, organize, and distribute medical supplies from international partners throughout Europe. Since 2022, Mercy & Health has received and distributed no fewer than 120 intensive care ambulances to military units through the non-profit organization BEforUA! These ambulances provide a vital lifeline for those on the front lines. Our mobile workshop vehicles will extend the lifespan of these ambulances, as well as our evacuation pickup trucks.

How we operate

Our mission is therefore to provide "workshop" vehicles mobile phones. We buy used medium-sized and light 4x4 SUVs, which are suitable for driving in areas where roads are either nonexistent or in very poor condition, both in winter and summer. These include vehicles such as the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, etc. We perform a check of the vehicle's vital parameters. Our volunteers service the engine, transmission, and any other aspect that may require attention. If the work is more extensive or complex, we naturally entrust it to professionals in the field. Most of the vehicles will be transported by road. They must therefore be registered and, to do so, undergo the mandatory technical inspection. The vehicles are then equipped as a maintenance and mechanical repair workshop. They are thus fitted with an electric generator, a pneumatic compressor, and a range of tools and accessories to carry out this type of activity. Ukraine is not part of the European Union. Therefore, we must complete customs formalities to transfer these vehicles to Ukraine. Finally, we set off in convoy to Ukraine with the vehicles thus prepared, which we then hand over to our partner Mercy & Health. Our partner Mercy & Health then distributes these to units across the entire front line.

Our Achievement

What does a "Mobile Workshop" car look like?

During the summer of 2025, we delivered our first "proof of concept" vehicle while we were in the process of setting up the non-profit organization. The photos illustrate how it is possible to fit essential equipment for oil changes and general maintenance, repairing a flat tire, and also setting up an emergency medical reception point with electricity, water, etc., into a fairly small vehicle.

This first vehicle was handed over to an active unit in the XXX region and was very useful to us in refining the format and content of these vehicles.

What do we need?

  • 4x4 vehicles
  • Medical supplies
  • Funding
  • Relaying information to potential donors
  • Volunteer drivers
